Over 40 Years of Sizzle

Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded more than 40 years ago by Miss Ruth Fertel of New Orleans, Louisiana. Needing a way to put her two sons through college, Miss Ruth purchased Chris Steak House in 1965. Shortly thereafter, Hurricane Betsy devastated New Orleans and left the city without power. Always the innovator, Miss Ruth fired up her gas broiler to cook free steaks for the disaster victims. In doing so, she found the sizzle that would make Ruth's Chris the world's largest fine dining company. Today, Ruth's Chris Steak House restaurants continue to use Miss Ruth's specially designed broilers to sear USDA prime, corn-fed steaks at 1,800 degrees.

Ruth's Chris provides guests with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that is accommodating to fit individual needs, whether it's a romantic dinner for two, a quiet business appointment or drinks among friends.

Our restaurant today remains true to our Louisiana roots and traditions. The menu features only the highest quality ingredients, prepared in the ways originated by Miss Ruth more than 40 years ago.
